My Hero Academia focuses on the battle between the advocates of good and evil, aka the heroes and the villains.
Both sides have considerable power to their name, and the fights between them are really looked forward to by the community.
The main source of their power is something called a Quirk, which gives the users access to specific abilities.
From Mineta’s seemingly useless one to Chisaki’s Overhaul quirk, MHA brilliantly shows how they use these to their advantage and become stronger.
In the latest season, we saw Midoriya getting used to and developing One For All, as, on the other hand, the League Of Villains grew stronger.
While there’s no new season in sight, the manga has progressed a lot, both in terms of plot and character strength.
In this list, I’ll be ranking the overall top 25 strongest characters in My Hero Academia.
25 Wash
Laundry Hero Wash is the No. 8 Pro Hero. He participated in the “Jaku General Hospital” raid and saved many people.
As one might have assumed from his semblance to a washing machine, Wash’s quirk allows him to create and manipulate soapy water, which can displace many people from the ground.
Furthermore, he can also generate bubbles that can be used to make someone float.
24 Kamui Woods
Shinji Nishiya, also known as Kamui Woods, is the No. 7 Pro-Hero. His quirk, called Arbor, allows him to produce wood from any part of his body and manipulate it freely.
He can use it for defense by producing wooden tendrils and rescuing civilians and guarding them using giant wooden shields.
Furthermore, he can also attack and restrain his target, as seen during the “Hideout Raid Arc.” With such efficiency and power, he might even move up this list as the series progresses.
23 Crust
Crust is the No. 6 official Pro Hero and is strong enough to take on several High-End Nomus at once.
His quirk, Shield, allows him to grow hexagon shaped stone shields from his body.
Furthermore, he can expand these shields and use them for both attack and defense. Due to his great capability and strength, he acted as the center of the Hospital Raid Team.
22 Gran Torino
The mentor of both All Might and Midoriya, Gran Torino, is one of the most respected Pro-Hero, and his strength is definitely one of the main reasons for this.
His quirk called Jet allows him to shoot air from the holes on his sole, resulting in incredible speed and ability to fly short distances.
He’s able to defeat Dabi, Spinner, Magne, etc. with a single attack, and even devises a way to defeat All For One.
Even after considering his retirement, his power and experience make him a difficult opponent to face.
21 Mirko
Mirko is the No. 5 Pro Hero whose quirk grants her abilities similar to a rabbit such as great leg strength, and super speed is also nothing to scoff at.
She has an extremely strong physique, and a simple strike from her can easily destroy the ground.
She is powerful enough to defeat several Nomus and even momentarily incapacitate a High-End Nomu.
20 Edgeshot
Shinya Kamihara, known as Edgeshot, is the No. 4 Pro-Hero. His quirk, Foldabody, allows him to transform himself into a razor-sharp string, with which he can effectively stab his targets. He played an important role during Hideout Raid Arc.
After training, his transformation rate became faster than the speed of sound, and he even developed a new technique called “Ninpo: Thousand Sheet Pierce.”
With this, Shinya can twist himself into pointed strings and cut through his enemies with ease.
19 Best Jeanist
Best Jeanist is the No. 3 Pro-Hero according to the hero ranking system. It was under his agency that Bakugou interned and learned how to develop His powers further.
Best Jeanist’s quirk, Fiber Master, allows him to manipulate all cloth types and even unravel parts of his own clothes into restraining threads.
He is extremely strong and even held his own against All For One.
18 Stain
Stain is, without a doubt, one of the most famous villains in My Hero Academia. He is placed 18th on this list due to two main factors, i.e., his influence and power.
His actions have inspired dozens of other villains and set heroes to extremely high standards.
This influence of his, accompanied by his ability to freeze his opponent’s movement after consuming their blood, makes him extremely strong as well as both feared and revered.
17 Nine
Nine was a villain and the main antagonist of My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising. He had a copy of All For One’s Quirk, and due to this, he was able to contend with and overpower many of Class 1-A’s top students.
However, due to the toll of his quirk, he was unable to fight prolonged battles.
He managed to survive a direct hit to the face from Izuku’s smash with no visible damage.
He was able to continue fighting against Izuku and Katsuki despite the immense pain his body was under.
Even after being hit point-blank by Katsuki’s explosion enhanced by One For All, he managed to survive.
16 Himiko Toga
Originally a member of the League of Villains, Toga later became one of the Paranormal Liberation Front’s nine lieutenants and currently serves as a commander for the “Vanguard Action Intelligence Regiment: Carmine.”
Toga’s quirk allows her to transform into another individual by investing their blood.
The more blood she drinks, the longer she has access to that person’s form.
During her fight with Curious, her quirk underwent an Awakening, which resulted in her being able to use the quirks of the people she transformed into.
With this new ability, her future fights will be something to look forward to.
15 Mirio Togata
Mirio is the top U.A. High School student who is the closest man to taking after All Might and becoming the No. 1 Hero.
His Permeation Quirk grants him the ability to pass through any object.
While it does not seem to be a power-focused quirk, Mirio’s constant hard work and intelligence helped him shape it into one that allowed him to almost defeat Overhaul.
14 Dabi
Dabi is the commander for the Vanguard Action Guerrilla Warfare Regiment: Violet along with Geten.
He’s been nicknamed as Blueflame by Geten and holds the quirk unofficially named as Cremation.
He can manipulate and control a highly damaging blue fire, which can easily incinerate people and objects.
His firepower and destructiveness are often compared to Endeavor, the number 1 Hero at this moment.
After taking into account his strength and ability to strategize and hold his own against several pro heroes, he is ranked 14th on this list.
13 Geten
Geten currently serves as a leader for the “Vanguard Action Guerilla Warfare Regiment: Violet” along with Dabi and is a highly appreciated and treasured member.
His meta ability allows him to freely manipulate ice to gather, move, attack, and even defend.
Furthermore, after his awakening, he can alter the temperature of the ice he wields, thus allowing him to freeze any water in his radius of control.
The only drawback of this ability is his inability to create ice on his own.
12 Eraserhead
Shota Aizawa, known as Eraserhead, is a Pro-Hero and homeroom teacher for U.A. High School’s Class 1-A.
While he may seem to laze around all day, his presence in a battle can make all the difference.
In a world where most depend on their quirks, Aizawa, who can nullify his opponent’s quirk upon eye contact, is to be feared.
The only drawback of his overpowered quirk is that it cannot erase physical quirks. However, his intelligence and polished Hand-to-Hand Combat skills make up for it.
11 Twice
Jin Bubaigawara, known by the villain name Twice, is one of the Paranormal Liberation Front’s nine lieutenants.
He is extremely powerful and has one of the most unique and useful Quirks in the series; he can make duplicates of both himself and his allies.
He is someone who even Hawks, the number two Pro Hero, believed to be the most dangerous of Shigaraki’s lieutenants.
After overcoming his traumatic experiences, Twice went past his limit and could create more than two duplicates.
According to Giran, Twice’s ability, Infinite Doubles: Sad Man’s Parade, gives him the potential to take down entire countries.
10 Hawks
Closely following Endeavor, Hawks is the 2nd ranked Pro-Hero in the MHA.
He possesses the quirk called ‘Fierce Wings.’ which gives him a wide range of abilities, from flying to manipulating his feathers to act like projectile weapons.
In season 4 of the series, during Nomu’s attack, Hawks brought all the civilians to safety and aided Endeavor in battle at the same time.
With his extraordinary speed, he was even able to pierce through two Nomus by using his feathers.
It is only because of Hawks’ timely help and power that High-End Nomu was defeated in the end.
9 Re-Destro
Rikiya Yotsubashi is a former leader of the Mega Liberation Army who currently works under Shigaraki at Paranormal Liberation Front.
He has established himself as one of the strongest villains in the series. His quirk allows him to channel all the stress in his body into raw power. Ergo, the angrier he is, the stronger he gets.
When facing Twice and the clones created using his Quirk, Double, he nonchalantly defeats him while at the same time, dispatches the clones.
With 100% output of his power, he’s able to flatten a portion of a city and overpower Tomura, the leader of the League of Villains.
8 “High-End” Nomu
The Nomus greatly vary in terms of their power, but the strongest among them is High-End, an extremely powerful sentient being who battled Endeavor and Hawks in the 4th season of the anime.
During the battle, its strength was so great that even the number 1 hero was forced to team up with Hawks and push himself beyond his limits to defeat him.
Even then, Endeavor emerged from this battle, gravely injured.
7 Midoriya Izuku
After inheriting All Might’s One for All, Midoriya is well on his way to becoming one of the strongest heroes of all times.
He now not only contains the power of All Might but of all the users of One of All before him.
Midoriya can use six different types of quirks which belong to the previous bearers of One for All and can be considered its manifestation.
While Midoriya cannot use 100 percent of his power without Eri’s help, he can use 8% of it without destroying his body.
Right now, he has learned to control his powers pretty well, and the day he becomes the symbol of peace isn’t far.
6 Overhaul
Kai Chisaki, aka Overhaul, was one of the most powerful villains introduced in the series. He was the leader of Shie Hassaikai but is currently imprisoned in Tartarus.
Chisaki was a very dangerous individual, owing to his overpowered Quirk, Overhaul, and his ruthless personality.
His quirk grants him the ability to disassemble as well as reassemble anything he touches.
In addition, he can freely manipulate his surroundings and reshape the area into a state that is advantageous for him.
Along with this strength, he is also an extremely intelligent and organized person who can factor in multiple people’s ability to initiate coordinated and well-planned attacks.
During the Shie Hassaikai arc, he took on multiple villains and truly pushed Deku to his limits. He was only defeated when our protagonist used 100% of his power with the help of Eri.
5 Endeavor
While Endeavor lagged behind All Might for quite a long time, thanks to the latter’s retirement, he became the No. 1 hero.
His quirk “Hellflame” allows him to produce fire at will, which is potent enough to defeat many with ease.
In his current state, Endeavor’s able to break a Nomu’s arm with just his physical prowess.
His only shortcoming is his agility, and on overcoming it with Hawks’ help, he managed to defeat a High-End Nomu.
Endeavor also holds the highest record of resolved cases in history and has enough strength to justify his rank.
4 Gigantomachia
Gigantomachia is All For One’s faithful servant and former bodyguard, cultivated to be of use to Tomura Shigaraki.
He is one of the strongest villains in the series, which was seen when he forced back Gran Torino while simultaneously facing several officers.
With several Quirks, he possesses tremendous strength as well as speed. He could pick up the equally gigantic Mt. Lady and toss her out of his way.
He is so powerful that the League of Villains were unable to defeat him despite engaging him for days on end.
All of this speaks volumes of his strength – which the series will further look into in the future.
3 Shigaraki Tomura
Shigaraki Tomura is a leader of the Paranormal Liberation Front and the successor of All For One.
He has had not only his disintegration quirk boosted by Ujiko but also has the power of All For One at his disposal.
Shigaraki can now tap into his upgraded decay power whenever he wants.
While until now, the decay quirk only worked if he touched a person with his bare hands and all five fingers, now it can affect victims even without contact.
Shigaraki is the strongest villain in My Hero Academia and can easily decimate half of Deika City.
He is currently at his most powerful state, and with the powers of decay and All For One, it doesn’t look like he’ll be defeated anytime soon.
2 One For All
All For One is the evil counterpart of One for All’s previous user, All Might.
He is the one behind almost all the events that have stirred up chaos and turmoil within the society of My Hero Academia.
His quirk “All For One” allows him to steal people’s quirks, pass them onto others, and even combine them.
He was powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with All Might, and although he has been defeated twice by him and sent to Tartarus – he’s still alive and has marked himself at the top of this chain.
1 All Might
The next character on this list is My Hero Academia’s very own Superman – All Might.
Regarded as the strongest Hero in the world, he is the former user of the One For All quirk, which he has now passed on to Midoriya.
The power of One For All allows the user to stockpile and access power, which in turn grants nearly unlimited, superhuman strength, agility, and speed.
A single punch from All Might can generate enough pressure to destroy rows of buildings. He is strong enough to face All For One multiple times and successfully defeats him twice.
All Might is the strongest character of all time in My Hero Academia. He is the eighth user of One For All, and the former number 1 hero.
Just his presence was enough to keep the villains at bay, and through Midoriya, he continues to make sure that the people have a symbol of peace in the future.
