Mr. Osomatsu’s story is fairly simple; it is a comedy derived from the chaos caused by the Matsuno sextuplets. While the series is less recognizable overseas, it has a rich history and quite the following in Japan.
So, there is a lot of local hype about the upcoming live-action adaptation of Mr. Osomatsu. Although all the details about the staff and cast have been released previously, this is the first time we are getting a glimpse of what to expect from the film.
The official Twitter account for Mr. Osomatsu’s live-action film has released its first teaser visual. The film will be released in Japanese theaters on March 25, 2022.

The visual features the Snow Man idol group as the Matsuno sextuplets and three original characters from the film Period, End, and Close.
Osomatsu-kun is one of the classic stories from the last century that has left a lasting impact on the art of manga as a whole. While most of us are familiar with the more recent Mr. Osomatsu, it is nothing but a tribute sequel.
The original manga by Fujio Akatsuka was released back in 1962 and covers the escapades of Matsuno sextuplets when they are 10-years-old. Mr. Osomatsu on the other hand imagines them as adults and was produced to celebrate Akatsuka’s 80th birthday.
Shockingly, this will be the first live-action adaptation of the franchise ever since its inception. This is very uncharacteristic of a 60-year-old story that maintains its presence to this day.
According to the film’s producers, this adaptation will target adult audiences and, thus, will naturally contain more adult jokes. So, keep the young ones away from this one.
About Mr. Osomatsu
Mr. Osomatsu is a 2015 Japanese comedy anime television series by Pierrot, based on Fujio Akatsuka’s 1962 manga series, Osomatsu-kun.
The original manga and “high tension comedy” TV anime centered on the Matsuno household, which has six naughty and mischievous sons (who are sextuplets).
All of the sextuplets, including the eldest Osomatsu, are all in love with the same girl, Totoko.
The original series followed the family when the sons were 10 years old. The new series, titled Osomatsu-san, will be the first television anime in 27 years, and it follows the characters after they’ve become adults.
