The Boys Season 4 Episode 4: 5 Shocking Moments Which Prove That The Boys is Back

Hughie’s dad is awake; Starlight served Firecracker with a knuckle sandwich, and Homelander still kills folks. There are a lot of shocking moments from Season 4, Episode 4 of “The Boys,” so let’s get into the Top 5 moments from “Wisdom of the Ages.”

One of the more interesting takeaways from Episode 4 was viewers learning where that bloody metal pick on Sage’s table came from: her face.

In actuality, she digs it into her eye and self-lobotomizes so she can have the same brain function as everyone else—at least for a couple of hours—before her brain rebuilds itself.

1. Homelander x Blood: The Boys is Officially Back!

Every villain has an origin story, and fans see a little more of Homelander in Episode 3 when he visits the scientists at the secret laboratory where he was tested on and raised as a child.

He may have walked into the lab crew with a Fudgie the Whale cake, but nothing was sweet; he wanted revenge. In true Homelander style, he rallied the troops by recalling moments in his childhood when crew members tortured him in the name of science.

He remembered the times he’d been put in a fire chamber where they tested extreme temperatures against his skin, no matter how much pain they caused.

He also referred to an incident in which one of the workers, a man named Marty, teased him about masturbating in his own time. During this whole affair, the scientists just cannot seem to refer to him as Homelander and keep referring to his real name: John Gillman.

For payback, Homelander burned one of the workers alive and made Marty masturbate in front of the entire team of scientists before lasering his penis off. Yet, there was one person whom Homelander goes easy on, for whatever reason: Barbara Findley. She appears just to be another lab worker trudging along in the facility.

When he interacts with her, viewers learn that she was the only person who wasn’t frightened by Homelander as a child. Although the episode doesn’t fully delve into detail about Homelander and Barbara’s relationship, he must have a soft spot for her, seeing as she is the only one he left alive in his bloody massacre — though it does appear he left her incredibly traumatized.

2. The Gen V Connection Has Been Established

If you’ve seen the trailer, you knew a “Gen-V”- “The Boys” crossover was coming. A bit earlier in the episode, the news coverage cuts away to promote the latest installment of “The Whole Truth With Tek Knight”, the series that super-gone-journalist Tek Knight hosted in the Godolkin University.

It just so happens that Tek’s latest story is centered on Marie Moreau, Andre Anderson, Emma Meyer, Jordan Li, and all the drama that went down on campus in the first season of “Gen V.”.

“After their bloody rampage across campus, the other four Godolkin seem to have vanished into some dark gaping hole,” a narrator, very probably Tek Knight, says over a graphic of the student supes in the scene.

This is your sign to watch Gen V if you haven’t watched it already.

For those who didn’t watch, this tie-in will likely come into play as Homelander is incrementally reshuffling the members of The 7.

With The Deep, A-Train, and this new Black Noir proving to non reliable, he could need some loyal, powerful sues.

3. A-Train and Hughie: The Compound V Connection

It is conveyed to Hughie’s dad, Hugh Campbell, that he has just few days to live before his coma progresses to brain death. Desperate to save his father, Hughie starts searching for the only thing that could grant immortality to someone: Compound V.

As Mother’s Milk was already softening A-Train to flip to the complete other side of The Boys, Hughie summons the speedy sure to have the serum retrieved. When A-Train gets suspicious and tells Hughie that Homelander is the only one having the cases of V, Hughie lays a guilt trip on him for murdering his girlfriend, Robin Ward.

“You took away someone I loved. Now you’re going to give someone I love back,” Hughie tells A-Train. A-Train accepted Hughie’s request that the two would be “good” with each other.

By the end, A-Train does recover Compound V, but at a cost of being caught by Vought executive Ashley Barrett. What he and Ashley have is a deal: Ashley wouldn’t tell Homelander that A-Train sneaked into his quarters to steal Compound V if A-Train doesn’t tell Homelander that Ashley took a revenge poop in his bathroom.

4. Starlight beats Firecracker’s ass after the new Seven member reveals Starlight had an abortion

Specifically, in Season 4, Episode 3, fans learned that Firecracker has a few bones of contention with former “mean girl” Starlight/Annie from their super adolescence, where she used to bully her.

Now, Firecracker takes the opportunity to blow up Starlight over her decisions and past, including her and Hughie’s abortion of their child.

This happened during Firecracker’s “The Truthbomb with Firecracker” event, “The Children’s Freedom Fighter,” which the Vought member hosted right in front of Starlight’s organization.

This attempted event is part of Firecracker’s continued campaign to convince the public that Starlight and her crew are involved in trafficking children and other crimes.

Firecracker went even further, exposing to millions of viewers that Annie had an abortion right after revealing that Starlight accidentally blinded a hostage during a save mission when she was younger.

That was the last straw on the camel’s back, and without batting an eyelid, Starlight flew down to Firecracker’s stage and beat her to bits in front of everyone continuously. It wasn’t until Mother’s Milk stopped Starlight that she let up Firecracker.

Oh, and in the middle of Firecracker’s rally, Butcher tried to extort her by threatening to tell everyone about her raping a 15-year-old boy when she was a 28-year-old summer camp counselor at Capes of Christ Bible Camp in Davey, Florida.

She admitted on live television that she had an “inappropriate relationship” with a minor but also said that God put the boy in her life to guide her away from her poor decisions.

Robert “Dakota Bob” (Jim Beaver) tries to pass the Superhero Management Act. ‘

So, he decides to break off the hidden partnership with Starlight because he figures Republicans won’t be on his side if he still has affiliation with her.

5. The Frenchie Murder Confession is Here

And as one might have guessed, it did not turn out well. Though Frenchie’s instinct said Colin was a part of the family he butchered while he worked for the Russian mob, he could not help being in love. But everything comes to light someday—the conscience just couldn’t take it, lying beside Colin in bed.

As soon as Frenchie had told Colin the truth, a swarm of punches sent his way and bloodied his face. As Colin turned his back on a beaten-down Frenchie, he said to him, “If you come near me again, I’ll fucking kill you.”

Alright, so for the most part, one would probably agree that no one would ever be in a position to fall back in love with the person who killed their loved ones, but hopefully, they find some healing.
