To explore the Ancient Ruins of Rauh in Elden Ring, ensure your character is at least level 150. These ruins contain interesting new items, tough battles, and important, powerful enemies to be felled to progress through the DLC.
Gear up and step into this mystifying realm!
How to Reach Ancient Ruins of Rauh in Shadow of The Erdtree DLC
The Ancient Ruins of Rauh is the third main region in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, located in the northwestern region of the map.
From the Shadow Keep’s Specimen Storehouse, follow the path across a Greatbridge and take an elevator up to the Viaduct Minor Tower. This tower leads directly to the Ancient Ruins.
Start at the Main Gate Plaza of the Shadow Keep and head through the open door on the left. Passing through the armory, ascend the stairs on the other side, and you’ll find platforms guarded by Messmer Soldiers.
You can either dodge or fight the enemies that you’ll encounter on the way. Continue up to the next platform to reach a dining room where two Black Knights await. Exit through the back door leading to a long rampart with burning boats. Beware of militiamen enemies lying in ambush.
As you proceed to the stairs straight ahead, you’ll encounter a Messmer Knight. Past him is an elevator that will take you straight to the Shadow Keep’s Specimen Storehouse.
Take the path to the left to reach another elevator that will bring you downstairs. Just outside this elevator, take the right door and proceed straight down to a room with a flight of stairs on the left.
As you proceed, prepare to face more fleshy beasts that seem to be the innards of the jar warriors. Through the door on the left side, enter the large holding room, which is also full of little jar warriors who will try to jump-tackle you.
Make your way to the door on the right side and into the connected room with a flight of stairs on each side. In the room below are a bunch of more little jar warriors, and past them is a new site of grace, West Rampart.
Across from here, you will see a huge gate and a smaller door next to it. Pass through the smaller one on the right to reach the Rauh Greatbridge. It’s best to hop on Torrent and ride across the bridge, as you will encounter a bunch of bats and a special Messmer Knight at the far end of the bridge.
Enter the room to the player’s immediate right and follow the flight of stairs to an elevator that will finally bring you to the Viaduct Minor Tower site of grace.
And there you go, Tarnished. Right in front of you lies the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
How to Get The Map For The Ancient Ruins of Rauh
Essentially, the Rauh Ruins comprise two distinct areas – the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, which we discussed above, and the Rauh Base. The Rauh Base is where you find the map fragment for the Rauh Ruins.
Starting at the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, follow the path that leads toward the north of the lake indicated on the map.
Here, you’ll find the entrance to a cave marked by a golden statue that is hard to miss. Make your way through this cave and past the golden tree. An opening to the right will lead you to a poison swamp that you need to cross to progress.
Located a little to the east side of this swamp is where you will find the Rauh Base.
Descend the hill, riding past the two giants until you reach the bottom. When you reach the ruins at the end, you’ll find the stone pillar with the map fragment inside.
So, Foul Tarnished, I have done my part, and you may now do yours. May your journey be swift and your wits sharper than any blade! Until next time!
