Blue Lock Chapter 267 Recap and Chapter 268 Speculations

At the end of chapter 266, everyone was left stunned as Kaiser landed a goal, having the ball change its trajectory mid-course, leaving the scores of Bastard Munchen and P.X.G at 2-1.

The outcome of this goal was that it put Kaiser in the spotlight and left Isagi struggling to analyze Kaiser for his next evolution.

1. Chapter 267 Recap

When Kaiser landed his incredible goal, leaving everyone in the match and the people watching globally in shock, Hiyori asked Kiyora why he had passed the ball to ball to Kaiser, to which Kaiser said he’d always want to side with the underdog. If his pass to the underdog led to a score, his pass has all the more meaning.

After this, he tells them that he’s not particularly going to support Kaiser next time, neither he nor the gods know who he would pass to.

While introspecting on the previous few minutes, Isagi realizes that Kaiser is a wholistic type of egoist as he was capable of throwing his pride away in order to work towards his goal logically.

Amidst Isagi’s analysis, Ness approaches Kaiser and praises him for his skillful goal and foresightedness in the match. On hearing this, Kaiser tells Ness that he doesn’t need Ness anymore as he has already gotten what he wanted from this match. He then finally says, “I thrive in discomfort.”

This gets the gears in Isagi’s head running as he finally realizes that Kaiser is a wholistic yet restrictive kind of egoist. While Isagi is analyzing Kaiser for his weakness, he is approached by Kaiser, who challenges him to find out who the star player of their generation is.

About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.

Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
